Catch Up

Where has the summer gone? I can't believe it's almost August! Since our last post, we have been busy with the usual grind. I have been working, Trav has been busy with work, Ethan has been growing, and we have been spending our off time catching up with our friends. Our friend Nikki was down from Seattle (pictured with Ethan and Trav) and we hosted a BBQ and got to catch up with her along with some other good friends that Travis knows from Linfield. We also attended the beautiful Miss Kelly's Mardi Gras themed birthday. Ethan was a trooper and was happy to make the rounds, even if it was his bedtime (hence the pics with him in his pj's with the birthday girl!). The Roberts family invited us over for dinner this past Tuesday and we had a great time... Ethan partiularly loved spending the evening with thier three daughters! He didn't know what to make of all the ladies!! (pictured). The past couple of days Emilia, and CJ (two of my great friends from college) were in town. They stayed with us along with Emilia's kids Tucker and Lily, and CJ's two sons Colton and Wyatt. We had a blast with the kids and after tucking them all into bed Katie came over and us girls enjoyed a couple of margaritas and had a chance to catch up. We really needed a whole week together!! Emilia and her family live in North Dakota now and we miss them greatly. Congrats to Emilia and Jodi on their 10th year Anniversary!! You go girl!!

72 Chevelle

Travis's dad Tom has been in town for the past few days from Colorado and we have been having a great visit with him. He has helped me fix a couple things around the house, and he and Travis entered the Chevelle in a car show this weekend (For those of you who don't know, Travis and his dad restored his late uncle Robs '72 Chevelle Malibu Convertable in the summer of '97. He spent the entire summer in Colorado doing the restoration in his grandmas' driveway and it's awesome!). They spent a couple of days shining up the car and getting it ready for the show. Ethan and I visited both days and had a blast. We voted on best car and enjoyed the sunshine while looking at some beautiful classic cars. Ethan has enjoyed his time with his Grandpa Hoover... so much so that he doesn't seem to want to nap anymore. He gets very tired but if we are out and about he doesn't want to fall asleep. That leads to a grumpy boy later. Looks like we'll be starting our nap routine soon!!

I can't believe it is almost August!! Where has our summer gone? Hope this finds everyone doing well!

Ethan 16 weeks!!

Here is our little man at 16 weeks. He is getting so big. We weighed him the other day and he is now 13lbs 6 oz. He is starting to develop his little personality and voice his opinion a little more often. He likes playing on his bouncy chair, having books read to him and still loves being cuddled. He does enjoy being on the floor more often so he can kick his legs and swing his arms. Tummy time is more enjoyable for him, as he is getting stronger every day. He now cries for three reasons.....he's hungry, he has a little gas, or he is exhausted and fighting falling asleep. Either way he can still be soothed rather easily. Sometimes it means a jaunt in the stroller but he is still a very easy baby. Trav recently posted a video of Ethan on You Tube. Here is the link. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CSHAGxOIDCc

To Montana and Back!!

Ethan and I flew to Montana to visit my family for the 4th of July. We were there for about a week, and had a wonderful trip. Ethan got to meet his Great..great Aunts Mary and Peggy and Great...great Uncle Losh and great aunt Mary and BJ, and visit his Great Aunt Janet again. He also got to meet his Uncle Jason...and Jason's new puppy Boomer! His Uncle Jason so kindly gave him his first camo outfit. Ethan was a real trooper. He travelled well, and did great with being passed around all week. He also had some great Montana Adventures. He sat on his first horse, went on his first Hot Rod Run with his grandpa and spent a lot of outdoor time with his grandma breathing the fresh Montana air....and avoiding mosquitos! (see pic.) We got back to town last Wed., however I worked Fri and Sat. and just couldn't find the time to update the blog till now. It's amazing how difficult it is to find time for such simple things. We are now planning on being around home for the next few weeks. Work has been an adjustment for me as well as Travis but it's going very well. Trav has been staying home with Ethan and they have been having some great father/son time. I feel so blessed to be able to only have to work part time, and that Ethan gets to stay home with his dad. Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Working Nine to Five!!

Working nine to five......or two in the afternoon to two in the morning! Yep, I went back to work this week. I am fortunately working part time. I worked Sunday and Monday. It went very well. I had a few tears on Sunday, but once I got to work all was ok. It actually felt good to be back. Ethan was in very good hands with his dad. Travis watched him both days and they had a great time. Well as good of time a 3 month old can have. Trav did great, and has a new appreciation for staying home with a little one. We had to say good bye to our cousin Heather on Sunday as well, and we were sad to see her go. She is Ethan's godmother and we had a wonderful visit with her. That is her with Ethan in the picture. Hope everyone is staying cool in this heat.
