Ethan's Baptism

This past weekend was a busy one! Ethan was baptized on Sunday at St. John Fisher Parish. Our Colorado Family(Grandma Betty, Peggy, Uncle Rick and Aunt Sally) was in town for the celebration. We had a full house and had so much fun with everyone here. Ethans godparents, cousin Heather and cousin Tyler made the trip out as well. Heather came from Denver and Tyler all the way from Washington DC. Ethan is a very lucky boy to have them as his godparents. My parents made the trip out from Montana, snd cousin Chris came up from the beach. We had a big BBQ and just spent the day visiting and watching Ethan! He is growing so much, and is starting to see and like his toys. (Before he simply looked at windows and lights) He giggles a lot and his smiles are even bigger. He likes to drool now, and is starting to show his temper a little. He fights falling asleep in the afternoon, but will melt down if not given some quiet time. Ethan and I used to always take afternoon naps together, and now he isn't into napping by himself. However, I feel better and no longer feel like I need a nap every afternoon. Sooooo, we are trying to get him to nap in his nursery solo! He is doing great at night, no problems laying him down. He goes right to sleep, and wakes approx every 3 hrs. I'm hoping that will only get longer but am not holding my breath. It's not too bad, he eats and goes right back down. So I can't complain. Hope everyone is doing well. I'll blog again soon.

Go Dad's

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend at the beach with our friends the Diani's. We spent it in Neskowin at their new home. It was beautiful, and very relaxing. We had great dinners, laid back days and lot's of family time. The dads hung out with the boys while the ladies went to the spa, and then they played Salishan golfcourse that afternoon. Travis had a great first father's day. Ethan loves his pappa bear, and smiles bigger at him than anyone else. I attached a couple of pics of him looking at, and with his dad. Hope everyone had a great Father's day.

Twelve Weeks

I decided to take a pic of Ethan every month in the same place with the same Teddy Bear. My friend Karissa did this with her baby and that way you could see his growth and change. So there you go... Ethan at 12 weeks!! Ta Da!

Quick Low Down

We had a great week. CJ and Kami along with their darling kids came to visit on Sunday. They spent the night with us, and we had a blast. Toddlerhood is a whole new world!!!

Ethan got his first stuffed up nose.....many more to come I'm sure, however he is handling it well. He is still breathing just fine and doesn't seem to have any other cold symptoms. I really need to blog more often. Alot has happened and I can't even start to tell about it all. Basically, everything is good here. We are busy and looking forward to spending the Father's Day weekend at the beach with our friends the Diani's. Ethan is great, changing daily. His dad can get the biggest smiles out of him, and it is so much fun. He is giggling more often, and is still haunted by gas. He coos himself to sleep at night, and is still waking approx every 3 hrs to eat. However, he falls right back asleep. I can't complain. Ahhhh a babies life.

Sleep Study

We have had a great past few days. My dad visited and loved spending time with Ethan. Ethan is changing everyday. He is now smiling and giggling more often. He actually will focus on a toy...for a minute, and he seems to enjoy his activity mat more and more. We have decided to start a sleep routine. Up to now we have been on Ethan's schedule and at night he falls asleep in one of our arms while we watch TV and then we lay him in the cradle when we go to bed around 1100. In the morning we sleep in, bringing the little man to bed with us until we feel like getting up. It has been working ok, but now that he is getting older and I'm closer to going back to work I decided it was a good time to get a schedule down. In true Ethan style he has been doing great. I was very concerned about laying him down at 8pm when he was wide awake. After all he has been rocked to sleep by Trav or I his whole life and never layed down awake. It doesn't seem to bother him....he coos and hangs out watching his Fisher Price light show and listening to Mozart. In approx 20 minutes he's sleeping away. Hopefully he will begin to sleep longer and longer. At this time we get approx a 5 hour stretch. I can't complain. Life is good.

Weekend Update

Ethan and I had a wonderful trip to Seattle. He did great on the long car ride......basically slept the whole way. He hung with his cousins the Bucks, while I had Karen cut all my hair off. It felt so great, and is now so easy to do. No more 20 min. of blowdrying. This weekend we celebrated Grandma Allyson's birthday with a fun crab dinner. On Saturday Ethan and I started our "stroller strider" class and then helped dad in the yard all afternoon. We hauled an entire pick up truck worth of yard debri to the dump!! Meanwhile Ethan slept in his stroller moving from corner to corner of the yard. Saturday afternoon we attended a BBQ at our good friends Elizabeth and Derek's house. It was fun to see everyone and Ethan met some of them for the first time. The next morning I had a baby shower for my friend Heather, so Trav and Ethan hung out and did house chores. They actually accomplished a ton!! I was rather impressed when I returned home. We cheered Travis on at softball that afternoon, and ended the weekend with a family BBQ with Allyson and Jessica. It was a busy and great weekend. Today is our one year anniversary......can hardly believe it. We don't have any big plans simply to spend it as a family. Seems much longer ago that we said "I do" and danced the night away with all of our friends and family. Crazy what can happen in a year! We are very happy and blessed in our lives. Thank you for all of your support and love over this past year. Can't wait to see what year number two brings our way!!!
