Bath Time

Today was a day of rest and recovery from our trip. We both bathed this am, and then settled into a day of unpacking, laundry, and catching up on house chores. I had Travis take a couple of pics of Ethan while I was bathing him. I love the one of me holding him naked. I think his little butt is sooo cute. (Please don't mind my hair.....I had just showered myself.) That's our routine, I shower...warm it all up and then Ethan get's his bath. He seems to enjoy it enough. Never cries, and loves to kick his feet in the water. He has only pee'd once in his bath water, bet that will never happen again?!! HA! These pics don't display a very happy face, more like what are you doing mom? We are headed to Seattle tomorrow for yet another roadtrip together. Travis will be holding down the fort. We are going to visit our cousins the Bucks and cousin Karen. I'm having Karen cut my hair as I am longing for a "new do" and one that is less time consuming. I'll post photos of our trip Thurs. when we return home. Goodnight.

Memorial Day Weekend: San Diego

We travelled to San Diego this past weekend along with the entire Young family to honor and remember our dear Grandpa Gavin. He passed this past Ocotber and wanted us to throw a party in his honor in San Diego where we placed his ashes to rest. We had a wonderful trip, and the ceremony was beautiful complete with military honors. Lot's of great stories told, and a martini toasts in rememberance of Grandpa. It was just what he would have wanted. We enjoyed being there with all the family, playing at the beach, poking through shops and sharing time together. Ethan did great. It was his first plane ride and he earned his wings. He slept the entire way....there and back. He somehow knew the perfect times to nap and when to be awake. He is much more awake these days, starting to coo, and smile more and more. Travelling with him was a dream. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.

We're Still Here!!

Hello everyone! Since Mother's Day weekend our "normal" routine has been flip flopped. What is a "normal" routine anyway?!!? My mom was out for mothers day, along with my Aunt Janet, Aunt Jamie, cousins Matt & Tam, Mandy, and Karen and Brian. We had a great visit with everyone and they all enjoyed seeing (and some meeting for the first time) baby Ethan. It was so fun to see everyone and especially great to have Grandma Sandy back in town. She is such a big help with Ethan and they had a lot of good time together. Tuesday night we had Uncle Frank and Cousin Greg as overnight guests and Wednesday morning they flew out with Travis for a 5 day golf tourney in Nevada. Ethan and I headed to the beach to visit our cousin Jessica on our first roadtrip. Ethan was a rockstar and slept the entire way (maybe that's not quite what rockstars do?). We had a wonderful trip that included walks along the beach and shopping in Astoria. We came home Thursday, and on Friday cousin Shannon came to visit. Shannon and I had some great girl time together awaiting the return of Greg and Trav on Sunday.

Monday we went to watch the Portland Symphony perform Carmina Burana with the Diani's. The tickets were my Mothers Day gift from Trav. It was an amazing evening. That brings us up to today, Ethan's 2 month checkup. It was a big day for him, he recieved 5 immunizations. Four were shots and one oral. He seems to be recovering well from them. Our little man weighed in at 10lbs 7oz today and is now 231/2 inches long. Dr. Meyer is very impressed with his growth, and reminds me every appt. to never tell Ethan that he was premature. So that sums up our last week, I'll try to be better with the blog this week. Hope this finds everyone healthy and happy.

Long Time, No Blog

We have been having a great week. Lot's has been going on. We enjoyed a beautiful weekend with lot's of outdoor time. Ethan is growing, and doing great. He has learned how to use his cry to his advantage. In the past he would only scream when hungry, now if he's tired of lying alone he gives us a good scream. Pick him up and he's a happy camper, and instantly quiet. It's pretty funny. I find that the only way I get stuff done around the house is to put Ethan in one of my slings/carriers and go on my way. He usually falls asleep within the first 10 minutes. He is still a very easy baby, and for the most part very mellow. He is still sleeping most of his day away. These pics are some of the ones from the past few days. Ethan seems to love being carried in the "football" hold by his dad!!:) It makes mom just a little nervous, but boys will be boys. Figure I might as well get used to it!

Dinner with Friends

The Hoppes brought us dinner tonight. We had a great evening. Their son Caden loved Ethan and was a big help with him. Here he is trying to give him his pacifier. After dinner we went on a walk to the park, Caden loved it and Ethan slept. Surprise!! However Ethan is staying awake more often these days, and loves staring at the windows, lights, and ceiling fans. Here he is doing his morning excercises. Travis and I are doing great. I had my 6 wk check up today and everything is good. Gooooooooood!!

Size Newborn

Ethan has officially outgrown his preemie clothes, and is now wearing newborn stuff. I am having alot of fun with his new wardrobe options. Today we cruised through Washington Square Mall with our friends Christine and her son Jackson. Ethan was a saint, and slept the entire time. Put the boy in anything that moves and he's out. The weather still sucks but we are maintaining good spirits. Spring has to come soon.....right? Have a good day.

Weekend Update

Our weekend started Friday when Aunt Holle came to visit. She was in town from Pasadena. We spent a wonderful afternoon together. Saturday Ethan and I met our friend Jen for a long walk through the park. Ethan was awake for a whole 2 blocks. Then Ethan and Travis watched the NFL draft while I ran errands. Saturday evening we went to a house warming party for Barb, one of Grandma Allysons friends. Ethan was passed around the room.....twice and didn't mind it at all. He slept through the whole thing. (Until I wanted to take a picture!)
Sunday we visited the Harpsters, went to Trav's first softball game of the season and then BBQ'd with the Diani family. Ethan is a great traveler, and I have really enjoyed getting out and about with him. I'm feeling great, and Trav is doing well. Hope all is well with everyone.
