We have had a great past few days. My dad visited and loved spending time with Ethan. Ethan is changing everyday. He is now smiling and giggling more often. He actually will focus on a toy...for a minute, and he seems to enjoy his activity mat more and more. We have decided to start a sleep routine. Up to now we have been on Ethan's schedule and at night he falls asleep in one of our arms while we watch TV and then we lay him in the cradle when we go to bed around 1100. In the morning we sleep in, bringing the little man to bed with us until we feel like getting up. It has been working ok, but now that he is getting older and I'm closer to going back to work I decided it was a good time to get a schedule down. In true Ethan style he has been doing great. I was very concerned about laying him down at 8pm when he was wide awake. After all he has been rocked to sleep by Trav or I his whole life and never layed down awake. It doesn't seem to bother him....he coos and hangs out watching his Fisher Price light show and listening to Mozart. In approx 20 minutes he's sleeping away. Hopefully he will begin to sleep longer and longer. At this time we get approx a 5 hour stretch. I can't complain. Life is good.
